Dedicate a Memorial Bench or Tree

Earth Trust is guardian of some of South Oxfordshire’s most beautiful greenspaces. The Wittenham Clumps, Little Wittenham Wood and Thrupp Lake in particular offer places of serenity, peace and reflection and so Earth Trust is delighted to offer the opportunity to dedicate a memorial bench at these locations.

Each bench location, whether on the Clumps, in the woods or by the lake, has been specially chosen to provide stunning views from which to enjoy the landscape and reflect. Each bench is handmade to order in a design specifically chosen to compliment the surroundings of your chosen location. You will be able to choose the wording for the plaque on the bench, dedicating it to your loved one.

Earth Trust asks for a donation to place a memorial bench; your donation will be used to commission the bench as well as care for it and the surrounding landscape for the dedication period of 10 years. For benches placed on the iconic Wittenham Clumps (Castle Hill or Round Hill), we ask for a donation of £5,000. Benches placed amongst the wild beauty of Little Wittenham Wood are supported by a donation of £2,500. To place a bench next to Thrupp Lake and enjoy the variety of wildlife that calls the lake home, we ask for a donation of £2,000.

Testimonial – Eileen’s story:

Earth Trust welcomes those who would like to remember their loved one by planting a memorial tree on the Earth Trust Farm.

Memorial trees are planted in the tranquil setting of Little Wittenham Wood; a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation. Accompanied by your family and friends, you will be able to come along at a pre-agreed date and time and plant the tree.

To plant a memorial tree we ask for a donation of £200 which will be used to care for your tree as well as support Earth Trust’s work, protecting much loved green spaces and connecting people with nature.
